What types of dry-type transformers are there?
Classification by winding material

Copper-wound dry-type transformers: The windings are made of high-purity copper materials, which have good electrical conductivity and low resistance, effectively reducing power losses and improving the operating efficiency of the transformer. They are suitable for occasions with high requirements for power quality and large load variations, such as data centers and factories manufacturing precision electronic equipment.

Aluminum-wound dry-type transformers: The windings are made of aluminum materials, with relatively lower costs and lighter weights. Although their electrical conductivity is slightly inferior to that of copper windings, they are also common in some application scenarios that are sensitive to costs and have relatively stable loads, such as ordinary industrial plants and general commercial buildings' power supply.

Classification by insulating material

Epoxy resin cast dry-type transformers: The windings are cast with epoxy resin in a vacuum state to form a solid insulating shell. Epoxy resin has excellent electrical insulation performance, mechanical strength, and chemical corrosion resistance, effectively protecting the windings from the external environment and improving the reliability and service life of the transformer. This type of dry-type transformer is the most widely used and is suitable for most indoor places.

Impregnated dry-type transformers: The windings are insulated by impregnating insulating paint, and the insulating paint fills the gaps in the windings to enhance the insulation performance. The cost of impregnated dry-type transformers is relatively low, but their moisture-proof and dust-proof performance is slightly inferior to that of epoxy resin cast dry-type transformers. They are generally used in places with good environmental conditions and low requirements for protection levels.

Classification by purpose

Distribution dry-type transformers: Mainly used in the power distribution link of the power system, converting high-voltage electrical energy into low-voltage electrical energy suitable for user use. They are widely used in the power supply systems of residential communities, commercial complexes, factories, and other places, providing a stable power source for various electrical equipment.

Rectifier dry-type transformers: Used for power conversion in rectifier equipment, converting alternating current into direct current. In industrial production, many devices such as electroplating equipment and electrolysis equipment require direct current power, and rectifier dry-type transform
